Finished the first semester’s last three exams last week. To my surprise they all seemed to go quite well. Now I have some more time to focus on my final year project. Also registered for a second year multimedia module, an introduction to OpenGL, instead of any of the boring alternatives left to me in the third year. I can do this because I took two third year modules in my second year.

Went to TCR computer fairs yesterday and got a usb-keyboard and a gel-filled wrist-support pad. This is part of my cunning plan to avoid RSI and back problems. Send me an email if you want the long explanation ;) Met up with some friends at the Hope (just behind Goodge St. tubestation) for some beers after the fairs. Went on to a really nice Thai restaurant after a while. On the way home I got a phonecall from my housemates; they had gone to the local pub and wanted me to meet them there. So I did.

Today spent some time tidying up in $HOME. Rotated arch repositories etc.

Felt proud for missing out a Curry-run in Brick Lane with friends to revise for exams next week. Didn’t do much revising, but my room is clean, my hair is cut and four pairs of shoes are shined and waterproofed. To add insult to injury I later in the evening got a phone call from one of said friends, telling me they had just met Alan Cox in Brick Lane. He basically just wanted to let me know what I was missing out on. Twat :P

Lot of stuff happened. Was ill a few days over Christmas, but still managed to do some work, namely our NLP coursework, project progress report and poster. The report was handed in on Friday, so I had Saturday and Sunday to revise for today’s exam. The exam went shit. I thought I was well prepared, but had to think again. One question went okay, but didn’t have enough time to even finish the second, let alone start on the third (and there was no third I could do). Didn’t get better by me screwing up my calculations either. Fsck. We’ll see how it goes.
