two letters

June 29, 2004

Came back from work and found two letters for me. The first was from HSBC, confirming that they had received my authority to transfer my account from NatWest. The second letter was from NatWest, containing my new chip & pin card. Oh well, I’ve always wanted to shred up a brand new cashcard…

one year later…

Yesterday was my one year anniversary of having to work for a living.

New shirt day

June 20, 2004

Went with Nadia to the Allergy show at Olympia. Nadia want to do a food intolerance test we were introduced to, while I want to buy a silk duvet. Aparently, these are not so hot in the summer and quite warm in the winter. They are also uninhabitable by dustmites. For me, being allergic to said dustmites, this is a killing feature.

Had lunch at Pizza Express before we went on to Bond street for some long overdue shopping. I bought three shirts at Burton before we went on to Debenhams where I bought seven more shirts, one pair of shorts and four pair of socks. Madness, really. Shouldn’t need to shop for clothes in a while though.

Had a hard time staying awake on the tube on the way back.

Trouble in paradise

June 10, 2004

The box that hosts my website and mail has mysteriously been down for two days. Now everything seems to be okay, but I’m still kinda holding my breath on that one. I’m delighted that it didn’t seem to be a hardware failure, as I didn’t have a backup of this diary. It would have been quite annoying to loose all my rants.

My friend Stein was over on his fourth visit in as many years. Saw the third Harry Potter film on Sunday — we were both tired after a lot of roaming around and hanging around in pubs since Thursday. Friday we went to the Royal observatory in Greenwich and saw lots of clocks.
